A Week in Photos (3)

Hello Sweet Peas,

I missed last week! I do apologize, it’s actually been a busy few weeks so here’s a little insight into what I’ve been up to.

IMG_4494IMG_4342IMG_4495 IMG_4496 IMG_4479IMG_4469IMG_4484 IMG_4485IMG_4470 IMG_4474 IMG_4493 IMG_4489

 1. Dragon Fly Tea – Anyone who knows me is aware of my over obsessive love for tea, especially new wonderful flavored teas. I discovered the make Dragon Fly which I must add the peppermint green tea is wonderful and whats better than a tea with cute little messages?

2. Cold Mornings and Porridge – Yes, I’ve already purchased my first Christmas mug of the year (I couldn’t help myself) I mean just look how cute the penguin is, he was practically calling my name and of course the cold mornings have started creeping there way back in, so porridge is always the answer.

3. Happiness and Bunny ears – I think being able to let go of everything just for one night is the most important thing. To be able to stop and say ‘hold on a minute, this is my time’. I had a lovely night last weekend in Blackpool with Ellie, where we both just forgot about anything and enjoyed ourselves. Of course, I resorted back to being a kid when the only priority was buying flashing bunny ears.

4. Fabulous Trouser Life – River Island sales oh how I love you! Recently I’ve been a sucker for baggy, wonderfully printed trousers and my my when these were just £10, how could I say no?

5. Frozen Frantic- Yesterday me, Mumma and Ella all headed for a little afternoon out and popped into Matalan. I love Matalan for the odd bits and bobs and got a tad excited at all the new Christmas home ware section. Then making our way to the till I spotted this little number and absolutely loved it. I love popping my protein shakes into little cups like this, so it really was perfect. ~(And I love frozen… a tad too much)

6. Ginger Bread Latte Galore –  Yesterday being a little treat day I had to take a little trip to Costa and have a cheeky ginger bread latte, which Is the ultimate Christmas drink and my absolute favorite.

7. Halloween Mania- As you know Halloween is just in fact right around the corner and in our house hold we absolutely love it, and of course this year decided to go all out in Asda. I literally couldn’t resist the sparkly pumpkins and skull heads being the big girl that I am.

8. Skull Shot glasses – On our little Halloween Asda trip I cam across these little fellas Skull head shot glasses!! I mean how fab are they? You cannot deny.

9. Weight lifting Pumpkins – And of course Halloween can only mean Pumpkins and I can confirm we spent ages trying to choose the biggest and best pumpkins. After finally choosing we finally picked and me and me little muscles managed to carry him… wahey!

10. ‘Bring Murray’s Bum Back’ – Yes, this Extra Large Pick n’ Mix was most certainly allowed last night, lets call it a ‘Halloween Eve’ treat, as 1. it was a ‘little’ cheat night 2. I’ve been craving sweets for god knows how long 3. we are on a strong mission to bring Hollie’s bum back. So you cheeky cola bottles… go to my arse…

11. Cozy jumpers and boring Sundays- Cold weather is most certainly starting to consume me, which only results to my fingers and toes being left to freeze. I bought this jumper this week which I absolutely adore, going out my comfort zone slightly with the color but I strangely love it, plus it’s unbelievably comfy and warm. Bonus!

12. Keep going and Never stop – I have to admit the past four weeks have been incredibly hard for me, yet I’m still striving and still fighting. I want to keep going and shut out all the thoughts and feeling telling me that I can’t and I think this quote sums this up perfectly. I think it’s important to start accepting you’ll have set backs and failures, yet just because you do it isn’t the end. They only allow you to keep striving and going.

I hope you enjoyed these little set of piccys and I hope you have all had a fabulous week.

#OOTD casual rest day

Hello Sweet Peas,

Ah so today was a truly needed rest day, which has to my surprise been a fab way to start my week. I woke with some light yoga (secretly a meditating freak) and had the biggest breakfast as per usual because who dislikes breakfast?!? If you do, I really don’t trust you.

Today me and mumma headed out to pick up her gorgeous new car, so I threw together a quick casual comfy outfit.

20140901-033921 pm-56361097.jpg

Shirt- New look
Jeans- TopShop Levi’s
Shoes- white leather converse

May I add I purchased the white leather converse the other day from Office and my god, is it possible to be in love with a pair of shoes? Despite the fact I must say that to every pair of converse I buy…

The last of summer #OOTD and a slight change…

Hello Sweet Peas,

I hope you are all well and your days have been wonderful, mine was great thanks for asking.  It’s been rather jam packed would you believe, so now sitting down with my very much loved peppermint tea, Emmerdale and my little blog is 100% appreciated.

Firstly I had to run a few errands however I felt my outfit today was totally worth sharing with you all, PS. the sun was out this morning, I’m trying my best to hold onto summer! I recently bought this playsuit and absolutely fell in love with it, it fits perfectly and is brilliant for anytime of year. Winter with a pair of tights, cute boots and fluffy scarf? yes yes yes!

Playsuit – Topshop

Cardigan – River isalnd

Shoes – New Look

Ring – Silver.com

While popping out with my sister for a few of her birthday presents, I of course couldn’t resist a cheeky trip into next while she ventured the sports shop. When I go into next it’s always hit and miss, I either see a few bits I love of nothing at all however I must say at the moment their shoe and bag range is absolutely brilliant. I also find next extremely useful for any home wear (I’m secretly a massive sucker for that)

Taking in mind I said I wouldn’t spend anything but also taking in mind I really needed a new pair of boots, I of course went for the second persuasion and bought a new pair of boots… But hey they were too beautiful to resist and only £36, which personally I thought was rather decent. I also picked up a new room diffuser and the cutest scarf, perfect for pairing with some black skinny’s and the boots!

20140829-070620-pm-68780294.jpg

I also went for a little change today and yes in the hair department, after all my morning rushing around, I had a hair appointment booked for 1. Lately my hair has felt limp, under nourished and un styled and for someone who uses her hair as her pride and joy – this is extremely depressing. I found myself almost in tears the other night claiming to my mum how “down” it was making me feel, and that is sad it itself… haha. So, I’ve decided to mix it up completely and instead of my usual dark try out the old Ombre, and I’m in love. I feel like I’ve got my hair back again and what’s better than a hair dressers trip because hey my hair now smells amazing.

All in all today has been extremely successful and has left me feeling upbeat and positive! Some times giving yourself a little time and treating is well worth it.

Remember to treat yourself every day,

A little “pick me up”

Hello Sweet Peas,

Oh heck it’s been a while, I’ve missed my blogging but I’m back don’t worry too much…

Anyway, what the hell has happened to summer?! I’m currently sat here back into my jeans, slipper socks and over sized hoodie attempting to to allow my body to feel the warmth again. I even resorted in getting the old parka out of the back of my wardrobe on my shopping trip the other day… yes I was that cold or my body just simply refuses sudden weather change. I can’t lie though I did enjoy starting the winter shop, baggy jumpers and huge scarfs, yes please! On that note, yes you heard right once again I had one of my fabby shopping trips, of course only meaning a haul very very soon!

However today I feel as if due to this now gloomy weather we are all in need of one of Hollie’s little inspirational ‘pick me ups’ of course. Well I know I do and a complete ‘sluggish’ feeling is most certainly hazing over me.

I’ve trying my complete hardest everyday to stay as positive as I can recently and one of the little sayings that is helping me strive through is;

“Storms make trees take deeper roots”

I’ve been meaning to share this for a while now because I absolutely love it and lately speaks a whole lot of truth. There are many times I’m coming to face that the whole world around me appears to blow up into a complete whirl wind. Like a dark cloud is hovering over day to day, as a storm kindly brews. Of course through a storm the trees have to take their hold or they’re simply blown down indicating that they take deep roots. It’s like that for ourselves – our storms, our mistakes and experiences can only make us stronger because as humans we set in ambition to make our mark on the planet. We aren’t made or placed upon the Earth the to just ‘give up’ because I believe the universe simply doesn’t work that way.

I want to believe that each struggle that I am faced with It’ll only impact on my drive towards my aspirations in life. They will continue to provide me with the drive to carry on striving for everything I want.

So, if today seems gloomy or you’re having a little rough patch, look in the mirror and confirm with yourself that this will soon pass and when it does? you shall be a hell lot stronger. You’ll be able to face your day straight on with the need and want to live.

#OOTD – Wear what you feel good in

Hello Sweet peas,

I feel amazing today and extremely positive, I feel like I’ve gotten that spring bag in my step a little. It’s such a wonderful feeling, despite the great summer of rain I can witness outside my window (freezing cold in August? Surely this isn’t right!)

I also feel fabby towards my outfit today, as I’ve purchased some beautiful new trousers from Asos which arrived yesterday. I absolutely love the style of my tapered pair from TopShop which I showed in my last OOTD, so finding these on Asos I literally couldn’t say no.

Aren’t they gorgeous? I’m in love once again!!!

I’ve always been very various about what I wear (check my personal style post for more on that!) in the fact, patterns such as this were a big no no no. Standing out? Being anything but simple or fitting in? Ah no chance however it’s the silliest thing on the planet. If you love the look of something and want to try it then do and I want you to feel bloody amazing in it. If you aren’t a shorts person because you ‘hate’ your legs but adore a pair of shorts you’ve recently seen, buy them. If you find a dress you love but dresses have always made you too feminine, buy it. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident.

I always thought patterns such as this would make me feel like a massive elephant in which I could never pull off, especially along with the ‘baggier’ style. Yet I’ve never felt so confident, I feel amazing and what’s better they’re extremely comfy? As good as pyjamas 😉

TopShop is my weakness

Hello Sweet Peas,

I’m a shopping addict. Yes, you already know that and judging by that first line you’ll know I’ve got a cheeky little haul on the way for you and of course by the title I bought the cutest outfit from good old Top Shop (with a splash of Primark of course, I mean who can resist?)

  • Top – TopShop £10
  • Jeans – TopShop Leigh Jeans £38
  • Scarf – Primark £4
  • Rings – Primark £2/3

My my my, I literally adore this outfit and got home completely satisfied. I started out my day basically demanding and avoiding the whole of TopShop (Willpower women!…) because I knew my wardrobe was crying for new jeans and of course I’m loving the ripped knee craze at the moment – so I gave in.

I am one for personal style and I go with what I like and what perceives me and I like to reflect who I am through my fashion an awful lot (a blog post soon to come about that) however ripped jeans has always been a favorite of mine, so hey we shall go with that.

After being extremely indecisive on color, I tried these on and my god absolutely loved them, I would high recommended TopShop Leigh jeans to anyone as they always fit perfectly and I find our the comfiest.  And of course when trying on I needed a top to try, so I picked up this one not really thinking twice about it yet when I tried it I basically couldn’t say no. It’s light, comfy and perfect for the end of Summer up coming Autumn season, I also loved the grey as it’s a colour I don’t usually go for but I think a new season indicates a bit of a change. £10 is a tad on the pricey side but so worth it I say, so I shall most certainly be having a cheeky purchase on the other colours. Plus the top worked really well with the jeans, there was no questioning to it…

After resisting allowing myself to broke in the wonders of TopShop as I promised I was only going for the jeans… I headed to to many other shops crying at prices but then couldn’t help but make a little purchase in Primark (I mean I can stretch to that right?… Haha) With Autumn coming up (Yes, I plan ahead in the fashion world… ooppsie) I’m quite liking the idea of patterned scarfs and black leather jackets because who doesn’t love a leather jacket? They’re like my life saver to polish off an outfit. Well, to my luck Primark were literally scarf galore! And this one straight away caught my eye because of the turquoise, as I had only just picked up the rings that quite wonderfully match and finish off the whole outfit. Then I was completely satisfied because rather than buying load of bits I wanted but didn’t need, I’d put together and outfit, in which I can tweak as I please.

I’m loving the whole new season ranges coming in this year for Autumn, the colours seem to be straight forward, whites, greys, blacks and burgundy’s which suit me completely, so I’m really looking forward to having a play around with some outfits. Then I’ll be ready for summer all over again..

So I was a very satisfied Hollie!

Next on my long list is a light Autumn jacket/coat and boots! If I buy anything before that slap my wrists, haha.

On the route to happiness

Hello sweet pea’s,

Guess who’s been a busy bee? Me! For the past week or so I literally have not stopped. I’ve been here there and everywhere and quite literally when I decided to miss my train stop and end up in London Huston (taking in account I live in the North West.. oppssie) Anyway putting that aside it’s actually been a really wonderful and positive looking week, the buissness has had less of that draining dread and more of a optical buzz. A very busy bee has also created and extremely happy Hollie! So, of course I’m going to fill you in, lucky you 😉 (but grab a cuppa, this could take a while)

First was fathers day, I’m not usually the biggest fan of mothers and fathers days, whether that’s just because my and mum like to spend time and treat each other regularly I don’t know. Although this year due to the weather claiming to be the tiniest bit summery, me, mumma and my little sister all headed for a yummy BBQ at my Nana’s and Grandads. Yet British weather being it’s usual indecisiveness self decided to supply us with wind, rain and cloud (did I mention how much this depresses me?) however we still managed by having a fabby ‘inside BBQ’ (good old Nana to the rescue, ey?)

I loved spending the day with my grandad, as he is actually a huge idol and inspiration to me. He’s the type of man that will keep himself to himself but observe and fully care about everyone. If something is important and needed to be said he will say it and tell you, yet if it doesn’t he will keep out of it and stay quiet. This is why over the past year or so his words have really helped me more that most because whenever he has valued me with his opinion, I have known it’s 100% true. Anyway, despite the overall soppy side to me a grandad, we actually spent most of the night singing because we both love it way too much. Even if we did drive the whole house mad…. opsie, haha.

20140623-014358 pm.jpg

20140623-020146 pm.jpg

The next thing coming up on the Hollie calendar was one of my best friends birthdays and of course me being the most wonderful friend that I am, had to plan a surprise and treat her a little. It turned out quite a success as I got together a few of our closest friends and had a cheeky little get together, which was nice just to spend some time together, as it doesn’t happen that often. She actually really enjoyed it and to know that was the most comforting thing in the world.

20140623-014502 pm.jpg

20140623-015435 pm.jpg

Luckily I can easily escape a hangover, so there was no issue in carrying on my fabby week 😉

The weekend hit and I then took a trip the Manchester to meet some lovely girls Clare, Issy, Daisy, Daisy, Sally, Olivia and Ellie, whom I’ve been wanting to meet for quite a while. So seen as the sun was shining and it was a wonderful day we decided to meet up for a spot of lunch and a shop (of course) in which I bought the prettiest skirt from urban outfitters. It’s was £30 reduced to £10, how could I not? See 😉 I can honestly say they are the friendliest and most perfect girls to spend the day with and talking with them made me incredibly happy and was the most comfortable I’ve felt in a long time. Plus I had Fro-Yo for the first time ever, and I swear I can’t believe I’ve never tried it, where have you been all my life?20140623-014627 pm.jpg

20140623-015351 pm.jpg

20140623-014554 pm.jpg

Meeting all these girls was wonderful and meeting my little Ellie who I feel like I’ve known forever, I can honestly say she has opened my eyes up to so much positivity and possibilities in life. I really didn’t want to leave and cannot wait to see her again. She is truly a friend I’ll treasure forever. Plus our photos were super cute, sorry.

20140623-014531 pm.jpg

20140623-015343 pm.jpg

These small things over the past week I’ve realized have actually been massive, as I think we forget through life to stop and value the people around us. I know I know, that’s a very vague and common thing to state, yet I believe it’s true. These people in my life bring me so much joy and happiness and that’s the most natural and satisfying treatment of them all.

I then ended my week with the most fantastic run and yummy healthy, yes healthy pancake breakfast, (the recipe shall be up soon ;-)) as the sun was then shining and the weather was marvelous, it was like the week was made for me.

20140623-014511 pm.jpg

20140623-014519 pm.jpg

And lastly (yes I swear I’m finishing my blabbering soon) I want to mention another little diamond in my life at the moment, Tiny Tim! And yes don’t be deceived by the ‘tiny’ because he is actually a guinea pig and not a hamster 😉 I think I mentioned in an older post that our guinea pigs had supplied us with a whole family of baba guinea pigs. I can honestly say it’s been the most hectic few weeks looking after them and more so my little Tiny Tim as we were in complete worry he wasn’t going to make it. He was unbelievably small and really struggled to gain any weight however he has now luckily started eating and gaining weight! He completely my good luck charm and I swear he was brought into this world for us to fight together.

20140623-014538 pm.jpg

So that’s it, as you can see every thing has been tip top and I hope this has supplied you with any sort of motivation to get up and do because trust me it’s such a refreshing feeling.

What have you guys been up to?

A Naughty Trip to the Benefit Counter…

Give me a credit card and a Benefit counter and I’m like a little kid in a toy shop – it’s my ultimate weakness. Opps.20140613-060829-pm.jpg

20140613-060822-pm.jpg

I’ve never been the ‘girly’ type (honest..) however I’m coming to admit I’m quite frankly the biggest girl when it come to shopping for clothes.. and make-up….and facial products…..and home ware…. damn. And it seems to just be getting worse, but hey! I have no shame. So today when the sun was shining and shopping was on the cards, I was the ultimate happy Hollie and of course the worlds biggest girl.

Well, my day actually started wonderfully when a cheeky Top Shop order arrived to my door, finally (I’m the worlds worst in waiting for orders)

20140613-060704-pm.jpg

20140613-060724-pm.jpg

If It is possible to fall in love with an item of clothing I think I might have because this skirt is BEA-U-tiful! I was extremely indecisive when ordering this, as I do like to see products I’m unsure of and it’s also way way out of the ‘Hollie comfort zone’. But I thought what the heck. I bought it and I couldn’t be happier. It’s incredibly comfy and gorgeous mint green and reasonably priced (I think the electric blue one is needed to be ordered…)

Okay so obviously then the shopping happened and as I said Hollie with a benefit counter is like a drastic party waiting to happen. I adore benefit makeup and literally all of their ranges, I use all of their skin care products, foundation, mascara, eye shadow, eye creams, bronzer ect. (You get the point) It works so well on my skin due to my awful pores and oily t-zones and is brilliant quality, so yes despite it being pricey it’s completely worth it, as it also lasts at least 6 months. Constantly buying new make-up gets boring and probably costs twice as much, so yep it’s fab for me.

I new I needed a new foundation and benefit’s foundation is literally the only foundation that sits on my face all day and doesn’t cause a completely overload of the ‘oily/shiny look’ – it’s basically a godsend. I usually go for the ‘hello flawless oxygen wow’ foundation in ivory however with summer coming up and my love for BB creams I discovered one of their newest products – ‘Big Easy’

After having a lovely chat with the man on the counter and trying all the different shades, I decided it was completely the best option, so I’m super excited to try this out. New products galore!

20140613-060740-pm.jpg

I then went onto buy my two usual products the ‘BAD gal lash’ mascara, the  ‘Brow rings’ eye brow kit and the Fake-up’ concealer   . Yes, they are quite pricey but are brilliant quality and work wonders, they also last so so long which is a massive convenience. These three are my ultimate favorite benefit products and if you know me, you shall know my eyebrows are my top priority (I spend about 20 minutes on them.. no joke…) Some this kit is like basically my other half… yep.

20140613-060800-pm.jpg

20140613-060814-pm.jpg

20140613-060755-pm.jpg

Okay, so I completely suck when it comes to making my eyes have any slight bit of decency, I usually stick to the old eyeliner and mascara and have it done with. It actually seems like forever that I’ve been trying to figure out some sort of way to may eye shadow, creams or what not actually work. So for the 100th time I bought yet another lil eye kit however I actually like the look of this one, it’s a new range (so obviously I had to try it out…..)

20140613-060749-pm.jpg

20140613-060835-pm.jpg

Because I’m such a fabulous customer the fab man at the counter gave me a lil free-bee and gift wrapped all my things, which was super nice.

20140613-060807-pm.jpg

So it was a good old day in the life of Hollie today, now completely broke, and I also splashed out on an awful lot of tea…oppss.

Ah well, all need to treat ourselves right?

Family Lovin’ – A cheeky haul and Healthy pizza making

Over the past few days I’ve spent quite a bit of time with the old famlam and genuinely sitting back and relaxing for five minutes. Despite our continuous busy lives, we can become so wrapped up in our own little world that I find we forget that something so simple as taking a little shopping trip, or cuddling up to watch a film with your mum can actually be a great ‘re-fuller’ (If you like) It’s a great reminder and allows you to sit back into things that really matter and a relief from ‘stress’.

On Wednesday me, mumma and my nana took a lovely trip to Dunelm Mill (which is the most adorable home decor and furniture shop, if you have no clue what I’m on about) Yes, I’m not just a complete clothes freak when it comes to shopping – I’m a sucker for anything home related also.. opps..

I find a weird and wonderful joy in ‘adapting’ my room and adding cute new things around the house (It’s probably scary how happy it makes me, haha) so of course I was in my element. We went in the get a ‘few bits’ and ending up spending over £200, but shh. So I thought I’d give you little insider into what I bought.

The first thing I brought my eye upon was the cushions! For so long now I’ve wanted some cushions to build up my bed, giving it a comfier and fuller look, however finding the right ones? Well that’s been a hell of challenge but I finally found some in which I liked and that matched my room! Wahey! I absolutely adored these and thought they added a really quirky effect to my room, and they were only £6.99 = a very satisfied Hollie.

Next Of course I ventured my way around the decor sections and due to my room I always head to the bath room sections because they supply my beachy needs…..

After many decisions and mumma choosing a new shower head I finally came across this little beauty and I couldn’t say no.

See why I couldn’t say no?! It’s too cute and fitted perfectly, and again adds that quirky effect. I also love diffusers, room sprays, and candles (I’m way too obsessed in things smelling nice) Again, I’ve wanted a diffuser for so so long but have never actually gone to buy one and this way also reasonably priced at just £4.99. Bargain!

Another thing that’s also been on my list for what seems forever now is some sort of flower arrangement, I love flowers for just filling a spot and of course they do that brilliantly. However, due to my icky hay fever and the short life span I actually hate the thought of a real bouquet in my room. Yet, I soon found my problem solved as here they had a huge selection of artificial flowers in which you could pick and choose whatever you wished to satisfy you.20140605-011228-pm.jpg

I also picked up frame for my bedside table which was unbelievably cheap at just £1.99, and fills it’s purpose perfectly.

After completely exploring the whole bedroom section from top to bottom, me being the complete foodie that I am had to go to the kitchen section. Despite actually needing a few new plates, I then had to venture into buying the cutest floral, vintage serving platter and breakfast set (I mean how could I not when my breakfast looked this great this morning?)

I love all the vintage, and floral style bits and bobs, more so for your kitchen (yes, I know I’m rather late on the band wagon) and these were again so reasonably priced at it all coming to £25, so once again we had a satisfied Hollie.

I’m actually a massive family girl and anytime I can get to spend with my mum, nana, or sister I usually love. With me and my sister seeming to be continuously in different places sometimes it’s hard for us all to just stop to sit down and even have dinner together. So yesterday I ventured out to good old morrisons I decided to get some wholemeal pitta’s and lots of pizza ingredients for us to have a go at some healthy pizza’s. To my surprise they turned out 10 times better than what I thought, even Ella enjoyed them!

And wahey, they turned out perfectly!

And super easy too! Just use a wholemeal pitta for your base, some tomato puree (or alternatively I used hummus) and top with literally anything you like, I chopped us a selection of veggies, mushrooms and ham, grated cheese and feta for moi!

I know this post has been a little bit mix n match but hey, I’m best at the blabbering.

We’ve also had baby guinea pigs in the past week, which I shall update you on very soon!
