Boo Hoo and Misguided Winter Wish List

Hello Sweet Peas,

Eeeee yes you know it, Christmas is just around the corner and now Halloween is done and dusted the whole world is turning to good old Christmas spirit. I’m literally counting down the days now till it’s acceptable to put the Christmas tree up and dive into the Christmas chocolates… aka 1st of December I become a huge kid over advent calenders!

I absolutely adore the Christmas season, warm hot chocolates, Christmas music and films, and all the pretty lights please me massively. This year I’m especially looking forward to Christmas events around the season and one of my my most favorite parts is the outfits you can perfectly create. So, I’ve been absolutely loving BooHoo and Misguided lately and they have some gorgeous pieces waiting and screaming for me to buy them.  I’ve attempted in depressing myself in all the never ending lists of clothes I love and need…

1. Caroline Long Sleeve Mesh Top – I struggle in finding the perfect long sleeve tops during the winter however sometimes I find myself just needing something quick to slip on  and still look flattering. I absolutely adore the mesh back on this with the Khaki, I honestly think it works so well to dress up or down.

2. Lauren Cross Back Check Print Play suit –  I absolutely adore this little number and having a few little Christmas parties on the way, I think it would world absolute wonders.

3. Eva Merry Christmas Ya filthy animal jumper –  Of course everyone needs a good old Christmas jumper and I’ve seen this one multiple times now and desperately need it.

4. Ebba Heart Elbow Patch Boyfriend Cardigan – Another perfect winter essential is big cozy cardigans and I can express that I am most certainly in need of one. I have really fell in love with this and the heart patches on the elbows finish it off, with extra cuteness.

1. Celine Teddy Faux Fur Coat – I’m always on the hunt for winter coats and I do love my beloved parka however I saw a girl in something similar to this the other day and literally fell in love. It’s perfect to dress up or down and looks incredibly snug. Lets pray this is placed in the January sales ey…

2. Cheyanne Velvet Strappy Midi Dress – Now this perfect little piece is ideal to get you into that classy Christmas spirit… Bring on the Christmas parties!!!

3. Ivy Mermaid Sequin Long Sleeve Mini Dress – I’m loving the dresses at the moment and have seen so many of these beautiful sequin dresses which I think are perfect for Christmas

4. Ayvan Slash Neck Knitted Dress – I think this is perfect to add something slightly different to your daily look, with a pair of tights and cute boots and knitted dress is perfect.

5. Nicole X Sequin Midi Skirt – I absolutely love Nicole’s range on Missguided and if I could I would have absolutely everything she models however this skirt I’ve been eying up for so long. Sequins, Sparkles and black… it’s basically me summed up in a skirt!

6. Lara Faux Leather Front Split Midi Skirt – Another item on the skirt hype is this little beauty, I just adore the leather look recently and feel this would look amazing for Christmas paired with the burgundy or red crop.

7. Argona Strappy Mesh Detail Jumpsuit – I really love jumpsuits and on the right person they look amazing! For ages I’ve really wanted a classy, sophisticated one with the flared legs. I think again it’s perfect for a party, night out or Christmas meal.

8. Riley Floral Print Boyfriend Shirt – Last but not least I’m a sucker for shirts at the moment and the detail and pattern on this shirt is beautiful. I feel it would work so well with leather look trousers or black skinny’s.

So there you go there’s my little list of winter wonders… Now I’ll go silent cry at the price list.

Healthy Banana Oaty Pancakes – Recipe Lovin’ Wednesday

Yes you heard! Healthy pancakes and I’m about to share with you my own yummy recipe, mm.

Okay, yes I know I’m a little late on the bandwagon and if you’re a health freak like myself you’ll know that literally down every healthy related blog, Instagram, or twitter ‘healthy pancakes’ are everywhere. (Of course I had to try them out for myself)

I’ve looked for so long and endless recipes over and over trying to fin the right one for myself. Of course with the substitutes of flour and sugar changing like there’s no tomorrow however I still couldn’t find on I was happy with (or had the right ingredients.. oppps) So after endless thinking and trying I decided to just alter my usual oatmeal recipe and convert it to pancakes and with a bit of tweaking it actually became extremely straight forward and easy to use. Even if I still haven’t perfected the ‘perfect pancake stack’, they were still yummy…


The Ingredients

  • 15/20g Steel cut oats
  • 1 Egg + 1 Egg White
  • 1 banana (Half mashed and half left for topping unless you want your pancakes super sweet)
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of vanilla essence – optional (I love vanilla)
  • Cinnamon – optional
  • 1 tsp of flax seeds – optional
  • Which ever toppings you like – I would recommend raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, cinnamon, grape nuts, or almonds but spoil yourself go for anything you like!

And that’s it, – easy right?!


Lucky for you the method for these pancakes is just as easy because it’s basically just ‘plonking’ all the ingredients together and blending away! Haha.

First I get my oats in a bowl, now stupidly my blender broke and I’m still waiting on a new one, so I have the joys of managing with a hand whisk/blender – it still works just as good though! They do need to be blended however as I use the oats as a flour substitute.

I then add in half the mashed banana, the egg and egg white, baking powder, vanilla essence, cinnamon and flax seed- and as I said it’s as easy as blending them all together until you get a clear, runny pancake looking mixture (making sure all your oats are blended well)

When this is done begin to heat your pan with either a little bit of coconut oil or the 1 cal spray I sometimes use, again this is all down to your own preferential. Wait a few minutes and add 1 to 2 table spoons of the mixture to the pan, depending on the size and thickness of your pancakes you’d like. You could also add a few blueberries or raspberries at this point jsut to give them a little bit more flavor.

Leave the first side to set for 1 to 2 minutes before carefully (the bit I tend to fail….) attempting to flip them over, if you’re successful you should get the perfect pancake, and I envy you…

Let that set for another minute or until your happy before repeating until all of your mixture is done and dusted with, see easy!

Then obviously you can top and serve them however you please, I love blueberries, raspberries and bananas. I’m still yet to find more wonderful creations.

Coconut, Bluberry and Banana Pro-Oats – Recipe Lovin’ Wednesday

I’m back! Just like I promised, see I said I would, you should be extremely proud!

So in being back so soon, I’ve decided the best way forward in for filling your wonderful reader needs is structure, which is why I’m now introducing – *drum roll* – Recipe Lovin’ Wednesday’s’. Yep, you heard a day all dedicated to healthy, delicious recipes.

If you follow me on the world of insta or twitter you shall know I am the worlds biggest loser for trying out new, healthy, yummy recipes (especially them AMAZING breakfast recipes, I mean who doesn’t love breakfast?) I’m not even joking when I say I have at least 30 oatmeal recipes and combinations to share with the world, best get started…

So, lets kick this off with – Coconut, Blueberry, and Banana ‘Pro-oats’

Mmmmm, you heard! I actually had these for breakfast this morning and let me tell you – they were devineee. They were the fluffiest, yummiest oats I’ve made in a long time (and I make them an awful lot ;-)) So, I had no choice but to share this simple yet wonderful combination with you.

The ingredients

  • 30/40g Steel Cut/Porridge Oats ( Or preferred amount)
  • 100ml coconut milk
  • 150ml water ( Or 250ml coconut milk if desired)
  • Half banana mashed and half sliced
  • Handful of frozen blueberries (and extra for toppings)
  • 2/3 egg whites (Depending on the size)
  • Cinnamon/Nutmeg (Or any other sweetener eg. vanilla essence, these are also optional but just help add a lot of flavor to your oats)
  • Optional – Flaked almonds (Or any other desired toppings)



It’s unbelievable how quick and easy this recipe actually is, and with even having only an hour and half to get ready this morning I still managed to find time to demolish this.

So, you simply start by bringing your coconut milk and water to high heat just so the liquid begins to boil. After that reduce the heat and pour in your oats and begin to gently stir, add in your cinnamon and nutmeg and leave to boil.

You’ll then notice your oats staring to thicken slightly in which you then add the mashed up banana, this is great as it still gives it time to melt into your oats, again playing a wonderful sweetener. Then follow with the frozen blueberries, it’s actually your choice if you want the blueberries frozen or not  (I just prefer them frozen as they melt way better, even if they do make an icky colour, haha) Give your oatmeal another stir and leave it a bit longer (usually a 2/3 more minutes) or until it’s at your desired constancy.

Now you can stop here if you don’t require the ‘pro-oats’ part of this recipe, but you know me I’m a protein freak and will always add lil bit of protein when I can. Egg whites are the answer! Yes, egg whites – it sounds bizzaree I know, yet it’s the yummiest combination on the planet. Don’t be fooled either, when you first try this your taste buds will more than likely be freaked out, yet as soon as you carry on tasting you become completely hooked. I cannot have my oats without egg whites anymore because I would simply miss the creaminess and fluffiness that it provides (honestly the oats turn into some massive pillow, I swear)

So, just when your oats about done, stir in the egg whites and make sure to carry on string for a good minute just so the egg mixes in well and doesn’t set and cook in the oats. You’ll notice the consistency of the oats become suddenly very thick and soon they will begin to bubble and you know you’re good to go.

Obviously you can top your oats with whatever you fancy (you’ll soon see many creations ;-)) however I decided to carry on the theme or todays breakfast and top with the rest of the banana, more frozen blueberries, a sprinkle of cinnamon and also flaked almonds which add that little bit of crunch. But I’d highly recommend any seed, nuts or raisins as they finish the oats off perfectly!20140604-055604-pm.jpg20140604-080225-pm.jpg

And there you have it! See simple? if you love oats as much as me, I’d certainly try this.

Spring Clean

I woke this morning expecting to be greeted with the joys of the rain and gloom on the other side of the blind, yet to my surprise there was sun and come on you know me by now – I adore sun! So much I jumped out of bed and nearly went flying over the blasted fluffy pillow. I really am starting to wonder why I still even live in this country when the constant lifeless weather only makes me god damn miserable 24/7. And the fact anything under 1o degrees causes me to sink into hypothermia. Never the less I then decided it was time to get up off my bum and venture out to run. Being a runner it was of course an absolute dream. It was beyond amazing everywhere was so still and peaceful and in going so early I literally felt like the only human being left on the planet (despite the odd man and his dog, but I guess I can accept them ;-)) I probably sound beyond weird but as a runner you come to appreciate these things, so shush!20140601-104906-am.jpg

Also what’s better than feeling healthy and refreshed? Up, ran, showered and dressed all by 10, it’s a wonderful feeling because it’s lead me to think, I need a ‘spring clean’, (and yes I mean with my blog, I FEEL CLUTTERED)

My writing motivation lately has dropped to -100000, which is supposedly a worry considering it’s one of the only things I enjoy. So, this morning I’ve sat down with my lil post-run shake and the wonders of my Disney stationary and realized I actually have some time on my hands. So what better time to write? Of course time to blog, and time to de-clutter! Reading over some of my posts, I’m beginning to wonder if I was deluded or simply just high in the times I wrote these. Now of course I want to be as entertaining as humanly possible and and enjoyable read (what blogger doesn’t?) So, I’ve decided to start bringing in some new little bits and bobs to suit your fancy. Nah I’m actually lazy and I just asked a few people what they’d like 😉

I’m a complete health freak so recipes is the first new little venture, I have so many breakfast and oat recipes that they’re literally going to over flow. I need to share that oatmeal loving., literally craving my breakfast this morning all again now, opps.20140601-105014-am.jpg

Outfit inspirations/hauls/favorite posts have been also requested. I’ve always fancied giving these a go because I’m the worlds biggest shopper (I have no shame!)

Book and film reviews! I’m a writer, of course I read (I said I was a big shopper, I have a pile of 30 waiting for summer… oppssss..)

I also want to carry on with my writing posts, fiction, poems ect, and also my everyday life to life posts because who doesn’t love a good old natter? Also with summer on it’s way, I shall be on my little travels a lot more, I just about passed photography so I suppose I could supply you with some wonders……. haha.

I have lots of plans for posts coming soon, and I’m going to try and get back onto blogging as much a I possibly can.
