“5 Signs You’re A Shopping Addict” –

Shopping problems? Indeed!

Hello fellow shopper, I assume you’re here because the word ‘shopping’ has instantly attracted you without a single consideration of the content of the post. Of course you are! Well, you’re at the right placeImage, you most certainly are. Now stop popping them beautiful new items in your online basket, and take a minute to see; “5 signs you’re a shopping addict”, enjoy!

1.” I need this……” Yes that’s right. It’s never “I want” anymore. I’m the worst for this, and you are 100% shopping addict if you find yourself in the need zone. If there becomes a very fine line between need and want, so much that every beautiful item around you becomes one of your daily essentials, then basically there is no going back. Sorry!

2.”A shop isn’t just a place anymore.. it’s home” If you feel safer next to a £100 drop-dead gorgeous winter coat, or more so standing in a cramped dressing room trying that beautiful coat on, then you’ve got a shopping problem. That shop, your favorite shop is the place you need to spend your time, or you don’t quite feel sane, makes you rather insane. Oppps.

3.”I’m sad… I need new things” It’s like your drug. You need it to survive. Which from the normal, non-shoppers world sounds complete bonkers (It’s an addiction, I’m sorry! Maybe…) But, you see whereas the “normal” person may need a hug, a good laugh, a drink, well we in the “shopping world” need things. New things. From fancy gadgets to new 100% needed winter boots.

4. “Mine finally!” That feeling, that wonderful feeling of finally having that shopping bag placed into your anticipating hands. Knowing that you’ve just purchased that elegant top you’ve been needing for months, it’s finally yours. You know it’ll look wonderful. You know what you’ll wear it with. You know what you’ll where it for. It’s finally yours!

5. And of course the biggest habit of mine – After a shop “I’m happy now. Got eveeeerything I need, I won’t buy any new, not needed things for at least a month” A day after the shop “I really need this, but I just, but I need. Damn, I do need it, I’ll buy it…” If there was a description for hollijess in the dictionary, this would be it. I sometimes wonder if I’m the only person on the planet who finds themselves constantly thinking such thoughts after a wonderful shopping trip. Then I realize I most probably am. Do I care? Nope 😉

There you go! 5 of my shopping problems, and signs that may suggest the addiction is contagious. If you can relate to all 5, I would suggest you take a tiny break from shopping or see a doctor.. Oh who am I kidding! Never stop.

Ps. After that you probably think I am a complete nutter straight from the loony bin, so prove I’m not alone, share with me some of your Shopping Problems. I’d love to know!

Don’t fear the “Future” is here –

What future?

It’s been a disaster of a day and I’m currently sat here, fingers at the ready trying to portray and type anything considered possibly ‘good’. Trying to think ahead, the future, into what will for fill your needs fellow reader. Taking that into account, there is an obvious topic springing at the seams; the future. Image

Over the past few days, it’s been hectic, and the future seems to be appearing right in my face more and more and more. For myself and many many others, the future is one of the scariest things to consider. What’s going to happen? How do I do this? Where will I end up? Will I live up to my expectations? I wish I new the answers. It’s scary (Okay, it’s terrifying) but of course creates masses of eagerness. So, taking them two very extreme feelings into account, I’ve decided that with my massively busy Tuesday night I’ll give you a few of my most interesting pointers off my bucket list 😉

1. Travel –  I want to travel as many possible places as I can, Australia, New York (cliche I know!), China, Hawaii, London, Italy etc. So many places because you see as I sit here staring into complete oblivion outside into the darkness my bedroom window holds, I’m amazed. There is a whole entire world out there with, people to meet and experiences to have. I want so much more than whats just outside “the bedroom window”.

2. –  Jump out of a plane – This one may be a little out of the achievable zone for me… as I am stupidly scared of heights. However, I want to do something I’m scared of. Maybe one day, in the ‘spur of the moment’ kind of way… yeah.. probably not. Haha.

3. Eat the worlds hottest curry – I am a spicy food, curry lover! To the max!

4. Make a cheesecake – I will achieve this without fail one day! I will!

5. Buy a ridiculously expensive pair of shoes- in other words, make that much money that I can buy a ridiculously pair of shoes.

6. Try a sprout – There’s a great one for you 😉 I’ve never even considered trying a sprout.. They scare me.. Opps.

7. Actually achieve a ‘Day full of films’ – I constantly say “I’m going to be lazy and watch films all day!” but no, never completed the task. Not. Once. So, one day I shall sprawl out on the sofa, and I shall watch about 10 different films with no breaks

So, there you go, a few of the things I want to do before I die. The future, something that is starting to drive me mentally insane but my advice to you, is stick with it. Don’t just give up because something scares you or you chose that you’re going to fail because, yes, you could be an absoluter idiot and fail everything. But who knows we all surprise ourselves you could be the next Jamie Oliver or John Lennon. No, I lie no one compares to John Lennon.

Ps. Tell me what your ultimate silly ‘bucket list dreams’ are, a bit of positivity costs nothing!

Good-Bye Summer –

Hello Autumn!

The big, fluffy coats and the winter boots have soon decide it’s their time to make an appearance out of my wardrobe and slowly but surely tuck away the pretty summer shorts and sandals. However, I’m not looking forward to it one bit, the cold, and the snow isn’t something I’ll ever enjoy, apologies to all you winter lovers.

Now, if you are anything like me, you’ll agree that the cold, bitter weather isn’t something you’ll be jumping for joy for. Wow, that’s a tongue twister.

Anyhow, every single year I repeatedly find myself in complete and utter dread of the dark night’s drawing in and the freezing days taking all the blood from my fingers, so this year I decided it’s time to change. I’m actually going to attempt to have a positive outlook on the Autumn/Winter seasons in hope I can spread the positivity to all other grumpy sods like me. I’m going to give you a survival guide to “The Dreadful Cold Stupid Weather”…Wish me luck.

So,  I’ve made a list of my favourite things about Autumn and Winter and my favorite things in September so far, in hope they will show that this season may not be as bad after all.

1. Tea!

Tea of course is the main essential for winter (Other than of course hot chocolate..With marshmallows.. And lots of cream..Mmm) however, if you know me you’ll know how much of a health freak I am. So I have the perfect Autumn/Winter drinks to satisfy my needs 24/7, Twinings!

ImageI would most certainly recommend, if you haven’t tried these beauties, then you my friend are most certainly missing out! In fact go to the shop right now and buy them, now!

2. Candles

Winter + Candles = A very happy Hollie, with a dash of complete perfection. Winter and candles couldn’t bring me much more joy. The settlement in relaxing with your favourite book, Twinnings, and lots of pretty, gorgeous smelling candles just isn’t the same in summer, sorry!

3. Shopping

Nothing, and I mean nothing in the entire world make me more happy than shopping. To be precise, Christmas Shopping! (See, I’m not a complete baa-humbug ;-)) The buzz and joy I get from walking into a massive shopping center as the run up towards Christmas approaches is unbelievable. The massive, incredibly decorated Christmas Tree’s and the pretty, over sparkling lights to be seen from every corner. The small cafes packed from overwhelmed shoppers craving from a creamy hot chocolate topped with a thousand marshmallows, diets? What are they?! Everyone rushing around, Families, Couples, Excited Kiddies, Mothers, Fathers all enjoying the Christmas joy., or just stressed to hell but you get my point.. Christmas Shopping is like an addiction to me, and many others.

So recently, my shopping instincts have sparked up incredibly (Oh, yes Hollie, it’s cold, “New clothes, New clothes, NEW CLOTHES!”) And, of course, I gave in.

Black skinny jeans are of course an essential through winter for myself, as I kind of live in black a little too much.. So, I recently headed to river island and bought a lovely pair for only £30! And of course what’s winter without a new jumper, so I went extremely out my comfort zone and bought a bright peach jumper for only £25. And that was the first winter outfit in the bag, and obviously many, many more to come.

So, when you’re sat there thinking the hibernating is the only option left to Winter, just remember you aren’t the only one…Haha. Actually remember that there are positives, and this year I really am going to try and embrace the “Wintery” weather. I hope.

Also, let me know your winter essentials I’m curious!

See you soon,

“Beginner’s Luck” –

Yes please!

I’d appreciate a whole lot of beginners luck at this minute, as I have never been the best at beginnings and never had much luck in the area. Whether it be a novel to a simple hello (and the fact it takes me around 100 tries to complete both) I never seem to get it quite right.

So, I guess, firstly I’ll start by saying what a privilege it is to meet you whoever you may be and fellow reader how wonderful it is that you have chosen to come along to my blog. I’m new to this and so are you, so be nice, okay? 😉

Secondly, my name’s Hollie, but I know you’ve figured that one. I live in a silly, boring town that even if I attempted to describe it to you, you could fall asleep standing. And that is why I prefer fantasy, so lets pretend I live on a warm beach with millions of pounds, deal?

Now that awful, dreadful beginning is out of the way, I consider us friends, right? So, I want to fill you in on what ‘hollijess‘ is out to achieve and why you should stick around!

I love to communicate, I love meeting new people and I love to share and relate to the thoughts of the world around me. Who doesn’t? I want to portray a lot of this through my blog. I want to share thoughts, and travel through parts of my life with you, and to be able to meet lots of wonderful new people along the way.

If you do happen to know me, you will know how much I adore to write.

Now as a writer I would like to believe running a blog/journal may develop and help me in the writing/journalism area. I aspire it to progress me into something, and of course when writing, the opinion of the rest of the world is vital!!!

I would like to try and post as much as I can from day-to-day journals, reviews, travel, photography, music, and often pieces of my own short stories (if you’re lucky…) I’d also hope to inspire some of you with possible future posts. I’ll strive to think of the most different and original ideas I can, pinky promise!

Now, I know this hasn’t been the most interesting way to begin but even all beginnings end, so now I can sit back and relax.. Well actually that’s you. As now if you have made it to the end, you should stick around, and wait for me to for fill you with la-la-land. And If so, fill me in on your make believe la-la-lands, if you could go anywhere, make believe or around the big bad wonderful world where would you dare to explore?

I’d love to know!

See you soon,

♡ Holl ♡
